Pre-novice
Small jumps, and a simple dressage test, suitable for
young or inexperienced horses.
Novice
This starts to ask some real questions of younger or inexperienced animals.
Intermediate
Horses which have several placings in novice move up to intermediate. The dressage test has more complicated
movements and the jumping phases are bigger.
Advanced
This is the premier level of event horses. It is advanced horses that compete in world class three day events,
including the Olympics. Brightling Park serves as an introduction to top flight eventing.
|
| Brightling Park Horse Trials is well supported, and the quality of the course and
facilities are well regarded by competitors. From the car park the views stretch beyond the course, which includes
three water complexes, to the sea, some 10 miles away. |
 |
Over 400 horses take part and a good proportion are from the South
East. Local riders compete against international level competitors from home and abroad.
Olympic and world riders are regular particpants.
The crowd is made up of countryside enthusiasts and holiday makers. As well as watching the competition there are
trade stands to browse around.
