Eventing is the ultimate test for horse and rider in three phases:
Dressage
Demonstrates suppleness, agility and elegance. Points are scored for correctly carrying out specific movements.
Cross-Country
The most exciting phase run over a course of fixed fences, testing fitness, responsiveness and courage.
Showjumping
Requires accuracy over a series of jumps in an arena. Penalties are incurred for knocking down poles, refusing or falling. 
At the end of the competition the horse and rider with the least penalty points wins.

Horse trials have the highest proportion of AB adult participants of any sport. They are typically business people, property owners, car owners and the prosperous 6% of the population, 3.3 million people ride regularly.
Equine sport attracts non-mounted participation of around 4 million spectators.
The environment of competition, rural atmosphere, risk, team work and attractive surroundings provide a suitable atmosphere for commercial benefits such as sampling, selling, corporate branding, point of sale displays, client hospitality and generating good will.
